I went into the Bios and found it had reset itself to 2006 and had no time or date.
I adjusted it all to how it should be and it fired up, switched it off and pulled the plug then tried restarting it (with the plug back in before any smart arse comments) and it had lost it all again, so I thought OK its just the CR2032 battery on the motherboard so I changed it for a brand spanking new one and tried it again but then it just hung on the boot screen saying loading Bios.
Put the old battery back in and it would let me get to the Bios and boot up.
Thought id bought a dodgy battery so I bought another one tried it and again it just hangs when u try and access the Bios.

WTF is going on
when you replace the battery, reset the cmos by switching the jumper to reset on the mobo, then switch on your pc, then turn it off and switch the jumper back to normal then fire it up again, should let you get into the bios now.
