Now though that has changed and am planning to get the Alienware M18X Laptop, its expensive I know but I think will be worth it :D
Specs:
Operating System = Windows 7 Home Premium (63bit)
Processor = Intel Core i7 Processor 2670QM (2.20Ghz, 6Mb, 4C)
Graphics Card = Dual 1.5 GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M SLI
Memory = 8192 MB, 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x4096]
Hardrive = 750Gb (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hardrive
LCD = 47 cm (18.4) WideFHD (1920x1080) WLED LCD
Just thought I'd run it with you guys and hear your opinion on it?

I would advise against a gaming laptop, especially an alienware one. Every AW laptop thats came into me to be fixed has had a failed motherboard.
Also, for that kind of money you could get a beast of a desktop system.

like hunter says, you could get a damn good desktop built for that amount.
sandy bridge i7's are realistically for 'heavy programs' like photo editing and realtime simulations, etc... but! ultimately it depends on how you need to use your comp

i've rarely herd about asus ones going wrong. the VX7 styling is insane! but kinda costly but still, quite a looker!

But chances are if I do get this laptop it won't arrive until the end of February or start to mid March
