The problem there Sammy is your using the rams default SPD settings, these are settings all ram ships with.  Think of it like a safemode for ram, used to make sure its compatible with various board.

667x2 = 1334mhz That x2 isnt x2 ram sticks, its the multiplier on your board. So you have 2 ram sticks running at 1334mhz right now.

You'll need to look up your rams rated tested performance and make changes in the bios to achieve the higher speed.

For example, my ram defaults at:

667mhz (1334mhz)
7 7 7 24 timings
1.5v

my ram is rated tested at:

800mhz (1600mhz)
7 8 7 26 timings
1.65v

Those are my current values, messing around with stuff is fine EXCEPT FOR THE VOLTAGE.  If your ram hasn't been rated and tested at a higher voltage you run the risk of popping those sticks.  Check manufacturers website for rated tested specs.

On Gigabyte mobo iirc go in the Mb intelligent tweaker in the sub menu  you'll have Dram config hit enter and adjust

Edit
Just found this to help ya :)

It varies depending on the bios, get your mobo manual if your really stuck but try what Turbo said as well

Download CPU-Z, the DRAM frequency will tell you what it is 'actually' running at just x2 it, but Max Bandwidth that says 667mhz is the default setting that the mobo sets.
Plus it's a usefull program if your playing around with that stuff :D

it underclocks when there is no load on the card. mine does it too. but saying that, on my 3D Mark test it puts my core @ 300MHz and my memory @1100MHz

another option to use is memset4.1 in windows ive used this when tweaking precharge, refresh cycles and delays etc but has the 4 main settings you need only one you cant change in windows is the Main Cas lentency also has a monitor like cpu-z

its not a total solution but will let you play with secondary timmings to help bandwidth for benchmarks etc
