A TEENAGER bundled off a train by another passenger because he apparently did not have a ticket has insisted he had paid his fare.
A video of a passenger, dubbed Big Man, muscling the youth off the train has become an internet hit, with more than a million people viewing it on YouTube.
The Big Man has been named locally as Alan Pollock, a performance manager for a finance firm, who is from Stirling.
British Transport Police said they have received a complaint of assault and are now investigating.
Today, the man thrown off the train, 19-year-old Sam Main, a student at Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University, defended himself, claiming he had paid.
He said: “In the morning I got a ticket from Polmont to Edinburgh Park. The guy sold me two singles but they were both for Polmont to Edinburgh. I didn’t realise until later but I thought I’d be able to explain what happened to the conductor on the train.
“I’m diabetic and hadn’t eaten all day so I was just desperate to get home. I wasn’t given a chance to explain the ticket situation.”
Mr Main, from Falkirk, added: “I did have money to buy another ticket but I wasn’t given the option.”
At Mr Pollock’s house in Stirling, his wife said he did not wish to comment.

i like the fact that the article about the litle oik pressing charges states that all rail staff are trained in dealing with situations like this then this happens
