thinking of doing this for parent/nan present for my 18th so any advise would be apreciated, if this is easy to do and how i would go about it and the best deals on hardware. anything you know would be apreciated so i can decide if its what i want.

i'd agree with sammy if you are on a budget. i'd have to disagree with the "don't spend out on a expensive tower though coz it wouldn't be worth it" though. cheap cases tend to come with cheap fans that have poor air flow. and don't scrimp on the psu, you should be looking to spend at least £50 on the psu or 10% of the build cost if you are spending over £500 on the full setup. i know you can build an semi decent machine for £350.

Jules kinda covered my thoughts already. Spend the most amount you can on it. Scrimp on the PSU and case and it will be BSODS all round.
Give us an idea on budget and intend use and I'm sure we can bombard you with ideas!
