I am hardwired to sagem router and I cannot get my lappy to connect to it. I am using the correct SSID and Network key but the bugger wont have none of it. Tried to manually add lappy with MAC addy but that went tits up as well. Can connect if I use ethernet cable but the poxy wireless aint having it. Says that authentication has timed out, googled it and cannot find an answer so can anyone help me? Btw the lappy is a compaq with Atheros wifi doobrey.

Lappy is 14mths old, never tried to connect it wirelessly as it had a dongle thingy.

silly tho it may sound Rich.
But our slaptop has a swith to make it wireless I had same fing when we had it on cable connection was fine then we tried to wirelessly connect and it would not connect.
Then we see the switch for wireless connection......................hey presto online simples.

it could of happened that a proxy adress have been installed. thats easy to see/fix.
