Just wanted to ask if anyone has either bought or has managed to use  a "Kindle" book sold by AMAZON.?

Am thinking of getting the wife one for holiday, save her dragging 14 paperbacks on plane sort of thing.

Looks good and reviews are all good too, but has anyone actualy used one of these things themselves.

if the misses has an android phone or an iphone or ipod touch you can download an app for that.

I have one and find it awesome.
I find them easier to read than normal books, a fraction of the space of normal books, battery lasts for months and you can look cool at the bus stop.

You can 'download' ebooks for them also not just from the Amazon store which I imagine is very handy (having never done anything so unehtical myself ever!)


Like julian said the Android/iPhone app is pretty handy but the screen on a phone isn't big enough.
I'm buying my mother one for her birthday.


Quick note. Get the WiFi version. You'll find you will only buy/download books at home, no need for the 3G in my experience, but it's free 3G so if you can spare the extra 41 you might as well splash the cash.

Get the Kindle mate, she'll love it. There are 100's of totally free books to download if you search google.

I got a cheaper Binatone unit for ma birthday and it's great but can be a bit glitchy, also the screen's not as good and the batt only lasts about 7 hours. Kindle is worth the extra.

3 teachers in school have kindles and they say it's fantastic. get one. and you don't have to get your books from amazon for it. one of the teachers has a dvd with 6000 books on it.

I have today purchased Kindle with Kindle cover with light.


Only hope the fuck he keeps her quiet for when I'm on teamspeak now
