hey guys seriously need some support atm lol i've looked to see if memory KHX1600C9D3B1K2/4GX is supported by Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 AMD 870 basically i put the desktop all together and theres no video output i've found the cpu is supported so it can't be that unless gfx cards suddenly decide they won't work on certain models i reckon it's the RAM if not a lose wire i can't find anything about support though for that memory if anyone does find something please please please let me know thanks

chances are it's a cable not plugged or not plugged in properly unfortunatly i can't test for loose plugs until i get home but if anyone can help that would be great thanks!

I'd test for loose cables if you get _nothing_ from the monitor.
Not even the 'on'-light is glowing, if there is one?
If so, try power-cable for monitor.

I've never had that particular problem, but it sure sounds to me like it's a hardware issue, which I can't handle worth a crud at a distance.
Family stopped calling me with those kinda problems when my replies turned more into 'oh, so it won't work? how annoying. Unfortunately I can't do anything since I'm not there.'

I'm sorry m8, hopefully someone shows up on forums who has had that problem...

check all cables sam and make sure second psu power is fitted to the board if needed, normally a suqare 4pin yellow/black cable.

if the mb has on board gfx take your card out and try to boot from onboard.

Do you get a post bios beep

if you are still stuck PM me a number to ring you on onc eyo are sat in front of it  :)

In answer to your first question: those memory modules are not in the supported verified list for that board. This does not mean they won't work it's just that with so many on the market they cannot verify all types.

Here is the support list.
Good luck.

try each stick of ram individually aswell just incase it's a faulty ram module.

do you have another gfx card handy just to check it isn't the gfx card?

If Cyb can't help and I can be of any assitance, then hit me up on XFire and I'll give you a bell.  But just make sure you have tried all the above suggestions first, particularly the ones about onboard GFx and also the PSU connectors.

thanks all for the replies many thanks my main problem is i didn't get a speaker with the mobo and there wasn't one with the tower been in for about an hour now checked all cables their fine unplugged everything and done the RAM like jules suggested still note getting anything, theres no on board gfx and i've tried both dvi ports and hdmi to no prevail i'm starting to think it could be a hardware fault although i used a nonmagnetic screw driver and theres those raised screw holes behind the mobo...

EDIT: pretty sure at this point it's a faulty mobo it's a simple test but i plugged in my usb keyboard coz i know when a pc is turn on all the lights come up on it and on boot nothing come up

so what your saying is,  you put a riser in the tower where there shouldn't of been one and the riser was shorting the board?
