I have a problem with my vaio laptop.

When I first set it up I created recovery discs, which I have used recently to run a full hardware diagnostics on the whole system, wipe the hdd's and restore the system. When I finished I installed all vista updates right upto sp2+ and all necessary vaio updates.

After all this work (about 5 effing days), I look into computer to find only one hdd, of which there should be two.

The second hdd is shown in disc management and when i attemt to format it all I get is a message saying "disc is not initialized".

So i put the recovery discs in and the recovery tool shows the second hdd, and is able to run a diagnostics on it which shows disc to be fine.

I emailed vaio support and they told me to do everything that I just told them that I did.

I restored again just as they said and i've still got the above issues.

VVVVVVVV enfuriating cos I now have to email them again starting with "I don't think you lot quite understand my problem".

It is a AW11z/b.

So I thought I might lay my problem on you wonderfull people  :biggrin..:  and see what you lot think and if you might be able to help in any way? :superman:

Helpfull lot ^^^ :biggrin..: :thumbs up:

Is it an SSD?
I have not used them before, but either way it sounds like when you install vista (the part at the start which asks you do you want to install raid or any 3rd party drivers) you maybe missing a driver.Thats only a vague guess on my part but
Cyborg is the man who knows about this stuff imo.
