Chaps - apologies in advance for the following noob arse question. As u all know my new I7 rig is imminent and I have been taking on board advice given and wil be going for Vista Premium 64 bit.
I am currently running XP Pro on my old machine and cos I am a tight fisted bar-steward, I am wondering if I can purchase an upgrade from XP Pro to the aforementioned Vista. Is this the case? If so, can someone link me up?
I have seen OEM version of Vista Premium for around £92, but I thought OEM version were only for factory builds.
As I said, apologies for the noob questions, but I appear to be having a total brain failure at present on this one!
Ur help will, as ever, be appreciated.
Vista upgrade

OEM is basically the retail package without the frilly box m8, scan said i couldnt buy it because i wasnt buying components with it, so i bought some 32mb sdram sticks for £2 and they sold it me straight up
retail is just the extra money for the plastic box you get with it, useless m8, but if you buy a brand new pc now, you get a free upgrade when WIN7 is released anyways.
buy its supposedly if you buy a brand new system after july 1st http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/01/20/f...pc-from-july-1/
