Has anyone ever changed RAM in a Laptop? Im looking to go from 1 to 4GB of PC6400 ram but am unsure if its safe to do so.

Was looking into http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132901

Is it safe to do so? What are the risks etc? Anyone ever done it?

Also, anyone want 1gb of Corsair XMS2 800Mhz Laptop Memory

the first thing you need to do , is find out what the max ram the motherboard can handle.. call the tech-support of who made it to find out ..

as for changing/installing it .. every lappy i ever opened , had a little window/cover on the bottom .. one or two screws, and you can access the ram .. typically there is twio little plastic clips on each side of the ram to hold it in place , finger tip those out to the side ,and the ram pops out ...

easy safe ,and a hell of alot of improvment with more ram..

While having never changed laptop RAM, I have taken existing sticks out and put them back in, and it's a pretty hassle free job. Very straightforward.
This was 2-3 years ago though, so I can't remember the EXACT steps I took, but as I remember it it was:
Unscrew cover.
Pull RAM out.
Put new RAM in.
Re-screw cover.

haiiiiiiiiii i do that everyday wink.gif
it's easy you just need to know the  max the mofo can handle and the speed

apart from that it's pretty much pul out and put in (usually found in the centre of the bottom of the lappytoppy)
