Although it is the CORE#0 and #1 readings that are the true CPU core temps, I think that the TMPIN2 reading on the monitor is related to CPU temperature also.
Anyone have any idea why mine fluctuates constantly from 0 to 30?
techy question about HWmonitor

as you can see, TMPIN2 has varied from -11 to 51deg. It changes rapidly and constantly.
Is this the temp at the heat spreader?
faulty sensor or maybe heatsink not fitted correctly?

to me it looks like a motherboard temp not cpu or monitor.

the sensor wouldnt fluctuate that much unless he has a faulty sensor, i have 3 motherboard sensors, 1 is on the southbridge, 1 is on the nothbridge and the other is on the cmos, unless hes got one output for all 3 sensors, then it shouldnt fluctuate at all.

ok so you noticed I am not exactly a forum expert lol.
Thanks for the tips and all the above comments.
But the intention of this thread was really just to get those who are not that technically minded thinking about the need to clean the inside of the PC. Measuring and monitoring CPU temperature is a highly complicated thing and I've seen many pages of discussion on it but, regardless of the actual accuracy and nature of the various monitor programs there are, I see this a simple way to see if your temps are generally on the way up, or not, and maybe save a few folks hardware.
edit... oops... thought I was in the original thread.. lol at me
